wombat_sochoWhat with one thing and another, I didn't leave Tonopah until about 1430 on Tuesday. Stopped briefly to refuel and rehydrate at the Arco in Beatty, again at the Terrible's across from Creech to urinate and get more fluids, and finally got to the Strat around 1900. Their rapid check-in wasn't as rapid as advertised; still had to stand in line to upgrade, get keys, and give them a card for the deposit, but I got a good room on the 18th floor with a fridge and a coffee maker, so I guess it was worth it.
Bashed out the daily bloggage, ran out to Smith's for dairy products and some Bad Things, some of which I ate for dessert and others for breakfast with coffee. Dinner was a couple of spicy Hate Chikuns from CFA, which I had to fight with the app for since it insisted on placing my order at the Golden Nugget outlet instead of Sahara & Rancho. All's well that ends well, though, and I got back to the hotel, put stuff away after scanning, ate, and then stayed up way too late playing FGO. I did succeed in getting Erice, so there's that.
Got up at 0730, had the rest of the Bad Things with coffee and Carbmaster yogurt for breakfast, and zoomed off to the VA for my eye exam. My left eye is still good, but the vision in the right eye is worse; the new glasses will arrive in a couple of weeks, after I return from DC. I think the doc went overboard with the eye dilation fluid, because my eyes were fucked up for the rest of the day, enough so that I didn't do the daily blog when I got back to the hotel. The deep cleaning at the dentist's got shoved back to 1200 because I didn't get out of the eye clinic until 0945, and it went okay. Much less painful than I thought it would be. Went back to the hotel, grabbed a couple of slices of pizza in the hotel which cost me more than a couple of mediums from Domino's would have, but I didn't want to hang around waiting for a delivery, since I hadn't eaten since getting a breakfast burrito at Sonic on Craig on my way to the dentist's.
Wifi connectivity on the phone was kinda shitty in my room, too, which made playing FGO harder but didn't seem to affect Twitter. On the other hand, the TV in my room had Pandora as one of the options, so I got to listen to WGTB Blue instead of suffering through the shit music the people across the hall were playing. I went to bed pretty early.
Slept in until 0830, washed up, shaved, packed, tried to check out through my phone, but the process got munged up, so I just left the keys on the all-purpose dresser/TV stand/fridge cabinet and booked it. Headed over to the Omelet House where I fortified myself with a bacon, broccoli & cheddar omelet and a side of hash, after which I went to Sonic for fluids and Murphy Express for gas ($4.77, a bargain compared to Beatty or Tonopah) before I hit the road. Drove straight through to Tonopah and got in at 1630. I could have gone to the post office and picked up stuff, but I was tired and wanted to bash out the catch-up blog before I ran out of energy.
