wombat_sochoPicked up a little bit of weight from last night's pasta & pie debauchery, but BG was nominal and BP was normal. Had a flax muffin (using the brown sugar Splenda) with coffee, and it was good.
Since I had woken up fairly late, I barely had time to shave before it was time to go online with Doc Bui. Unfortunately nobody had sent me a link for the video appointment - but she called to check on me and remedied that problem. For some reason the headphones and mic weren't working right, so I gave up and just used the mic in the camera and the usual speakers. She was pretty happy with the numbers and said we were going to keep things the same & check again next month.
I then changed into my jeans and headed out to the post office, where there was all kinds of crap waiting for me: the flax meal, Seventeen Moments of Spring, and various drugs from the VA (including a fresh pen of Ozempic). I stuffed all of it in the flax meal box except for the Ozempic, which they had as usual sent in a yuge box with a couple of cold packs and insulation. Went home by way of the BK, where I screwed up the order and wound up with a double cheeseburger and regular Coke instead of a double bacon cheeseburger and a diet Coke. Didn't drink much of the Coke. I also got some Ingress in. Some of the Red Faction portals have appeared in town, but since they're only L1 & L2 I'm going to leave them alone for now.
Lost two out of three to the Cardinals at Busch Stadium; Marichal took the second game, and Brabender's good start in the third game was wasted by the bullpen, which combined to let the Cards score three in the bottom of the 9th to beat us 3-1. Fuckin' Drabowsky.
Out to Raley's to take advantage of the $5 day special, but I think I screwed up and got some of the wrong stuff because I didn't get the 2 for $5 price on one brick of Tillamook or the two quarts of Sunnydale Farms whole milk plain yogurt, probably because it was organic? I did reserve my Thanksgiving ham.
The last book Martin sent me was Bill Mauldin's Back Home.
