On the road again

wombat_socho So the first half of the Balticon Expedition has gone moderately well, but all the same, I am already tired of being on the road and going from hotel to hotel. Am very much looking forward to spending most of next week in the Extended Stay America Chantilly down the road from the Wegman's, Walmart, and Willard's BBQ, but for the moment I am in the Quality Inn in Hagerstown killing some time before I head over to hang out with my blog boss Stacy McCain.
As related in this video, I got a ridiculously huge suite at the Rio, which I feel I didn't enjoy as much as I could have, but I did do the Test Site tour, dropped the Kia off at Pep Boys, and enjoyed the buffet at the Royal Garden Indian restaurant in the Rio. Unfortunately, I overslept and was late for my 0530 flight out of McCarran, but Southwest got me on the next flight to Denver, which got me to Dulles in plenty of time to pick up an excessively huge GMC Terrain before heading down to the Wing Factory for the mandatory AYCE wings, which were every bit as good as I remembered. Then I went to the ESA Chantilly and crashed.
Woke up, showered, shaved, dressed, and headed over to the Dunkin for breakfast before making my way to Rockville for an early check-in at the Rockville Hotel, which was a nice addition to the Ramada chain. Went out with a friend to the Old Angler's Inn, which was pricy but worth it, and then hung around with her until late.
This morning I managed to get up in enough time to dress, do the morning blood test and pill sortage, and head over to the local Dunkin for breakfast and the first two rounds of the draft in Pete's 1971 league. Then followed a drive to Hagerstown and another early check-in, and I managed to get to my room in enough time to make my third-round pick.
