For some reason I haven't been able to get myself to bed at a decent hour on either of the last two evenings, but that's gonna change tonight. So tired.

Paid some bills yesterday, did a little Christmas shopping today, and will finish the rest of it at the last minute, as is traditional...it's not like I have a lot of folks to pick things up for, after all. Because of my doctor's appointment, I punted lunch prep this morning - just as well, barely had time to fix & eat breakfast - and so wound up grabbing a pastrami sub at the deli co-located with the Kaiser offices, since I'd spent half the day there anyway...

Yeah, almost four hours blown on what should have been a 20-minute appointment. Dr. L was overbooked and I got bumped in favor of some seasoned citizens on top of that. I would have liked to have known so I could go up and talk to Member Services instead of twiddling my thumbs for two hours, but it was not to be. At least the appointment went well - Doc is very pleased with the results of the hospital stay, which include a drop in weight from 420 to 408. The wound on the left leg is 99% dried up, and the right leg's ulcer is drastically reduced to the point where a 4x6 ABD pad covers it nicely with room to spare. Nurse irrigated both wounds with saline and then wrapped them back up.

Felt really tired on the way home and opted for Popeye's in lieu of home cooking; perhaps it was instant karma, but they shorted me my rice & beans. :argh:

Time to shoot up and fall down now, I think.

If I were eating fried chicken every night, I might agree with you.

pope-yes is hard to justify - once a month might not be fatal
I guess - they do have the best fast food onions rings this side
of anywhere though ;-)

the "in the hospital diet" has always been a good one - they
knocked how many pounds off you in how long? and all while
under direct competent medical care? nice! lessons we can all
learn in that....

how was your BG management while in the H ? they have any
comments?

Well, since I'm only eating dem fine Roman chikuns about once a month, that's why I'm not having major guilt pangs over it.

I lost 12 pounds in about a month, and I'm willing to credit the hospital with all of that since I wasn't making any special effort to control my diet before then - just avoiding particularly egregious stuff.

They seemed pretty happy with the BG levels at the hospital, which in view of how the infections fuck with BG is pretty good.
