Yeah, since this was the first day without Zyvox, I had a cheese omelet for breakfast and noticed that there was moisture in the bag of shredded cheese. Bad sign. I checked for mold, and there didn't seem to be any, so I resolved to use it up tonight. Which I did - it's grilled cheese & ham sandwiches with a large side of what would probably qualify as Quiche Lorraine if it had more eggs and less spinach...to say nothing of the total lack of pie crust. I don't care because it's topped with GLORIOUS CHEESE. Have I mentioned how much I missed cheese these last three weeks?

Stopped on the way home at the library and dropped off everything but Inversions, which I somehow missed this morning. I have a fair amount of fines, but not enough to keep me from checking out Amity Shlaes' The Forgotten Man, which is the "revisionist" history of the Great Depression that's causing all the fuss.

Gave up reading Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon because there was too much bullshit and not enough bullfighting.
Ted, White and Blue might have been more appreciated earlier in the campaign season, but right now I'm just not in the mood for full-force rock and roll pro-hunting, pro-gun gonzo madness. As for Black Belt Conservatism, well, it wasn't as entertaining as the Nuge's book. Maybe Chuck should have hired these guys to ghost write it instead.

Pandora gave me back Radio Free Baja Manitoba, and I was so pleased by this that I added Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson to the mix. Have to say, I was pretty surprised to hear the Kid on the local country music station, which they were playing downstairs in the shop yesterday. Never thought of "All Summer Long" as country, but I don't make the playlists. Except on Pandora. Kind of. :)

So, was the thing closer to a frittata?

(I had to look up "frittata" before answering this...)

Sort of, except that it contained no starch component and was nuked instead of being broiled. Because I was in a hurry. #^_^#

No worries, as I had to look it up, too. Stupid brain doesn't absorb information like it used to. Also, I hate how easy it is to anonypost. There should be some form of Captcha!

Not actually all that easy, since I moderate all anonymous comments and reject the unsigned ones. [livejournal.com profile] jamestrainor uses Captcha on his LJ, but I prefer a more personal approach to dealing with trolls and friends who can't be arsed to get an LJ account.

I was really commenting on how LJ doesn't automatically request captcha solving when posting anonymously. I'm just so used to posting on my computer that I forget that I log myself out on this one. So, I have anonyposted at least four times in the past week. Super-annoying, to me.
