You would think I'd remember my own cleverness better, but when Lileks properly laid claim to the currently-popular "Everyone will be Hitler for fifteen minutes" line, I completely forgot my own bitter take on that line.

Joanne Jacobs reports on the latest stupidity to manifest itself in the LA Unified School District - an explicit declaration of what I've been complaining about with regard to the public schools for some time. Yup, LAUSD plans to revamp high-school curricula so that everyone is on the college prep track, whether they want to go to college or not! As counterpoints to the moonbats at LAUSD, Jacobs provides links to Amritas-sensei's call for respecting diversity, John Ray's "Down With Education" essay, plus some other links, including one to former California governor Jerry Brown's blog, where he calls the "every student prepared for college" goal "unrealistic". (Did you know Brown was a founder of the Oakland Military Institute? People are a constant surprise...)
