Weight was up slightly, BG was nominal, BP was okay. Since I was pressed for time (having slept later than I originally intended) before my OLA shift started, I just had coffee and a slice of Irish cake for breakfast, but that was enough to get me through the shift.

Called Social Security, hoping they would explain the letter that didn't really explain why I got that extra payment, and apparently the deal is that this is the result of the work review they started last fall. The agent I talked to was horrified at the notion of my dropping SSDI in favor of regular Social Security, but I'd much rather get paid less from SSA and be able to continue working at H&R Block without having to worry about whether I'm at the end of the 24/36-month period I'm allowed to work in. Think I'll get a second opinion from the VA social worker after looking at the projected income on the SSA website, which is down at the moment.

Managed to get both link posts up today, so tomorrow I can concentrate on drop-offs, laundry, and hauling out the garbage again. I've been slacking off on that and really need to keep at it. So many bags and boxes need to be yeeted into the trash.

Went over to Raley's because I thought I was running out of Arizona Diet Green Tea (I wasn't) but also because I wanted to take advantage of the FAGE and Chobani yogurt sale. Came home with those, some bricks of extra sharp cheese that was also on sale, a kielbasa, a half-gallon of buttermilk (for Irish cake & soda bread) and that was enough to run the bill up to $36. They were suffering the same internet issues that ailed NSB yesterday, so I couldn't get any quarters for laundry, but there's always tomorrow.

Finished A Meeting In Corvallis today and decided not to plunge right into The Sunrise Lands, because that sucks you into the whole 9-10 volumes (I forget which) that cover the Cutter War. Instead, since the Eschaton novels from John Wright arrived, I am amusing myself with The Architect of Aeons.

The most surprising thing to me about this war is how incredibly inept the Russian Army has been. Things have clearly changed since the 80s and 90s when everyone was worried about the Bear and its satrapies invading Western Europe, and not for the better: if these are the professional troops, as opposed to the conscripts, they are doing a terrible job. Makes you wonder if that commie Andrew Cockburn wasn't right after all and we could have thrown the Soviets back to their own borders.

Anyway, the war seems to have stirred up a minor kerfluffle on the Right about whether we should be backing the evil, corrupt ex-KGB officer (but nominal defender of Christianity against Globohomo) or the merely corrupt former comedian (but brave national leader) who is risking his life in Kiev, but apparently has the backing of Globohomo, the WEF, George Soros, the Rothschilds, etc., etc. ad nauseam. Me, I don't actually have to choose sides, but insofar as I favor anyone, it's the Ukrainians. Even though all the people who were lying to me about the jab & Corona-chan are now pimping the Ukrainians super extra hard.

The paleos do have a valid question though, and one I have yet to see answered: why do our so-called elites give a goddamn about Ukraine's borders when they clearly don't care about ours? Why do so many Left and GOPe types have financial interests in the Ukraine - like that useless crackhead Hunter Biden? Kinda makes you go "Hmmmm," as Arsenio Hall used to say.
