A good drive into Vegas
Jun. 7th, 2022 10:58 pmWeight was the same as yesterday, BG a little higher, BP a little lower.
I finished off the bread, had a yogurt, and also fixed a flax muffin for breakfast, which kept me full until I got down to Las Vegas, where I swung through the drive-through at Lake Mead & Rainbow for Hate Chikuns & salad. Since I left right after breakfast (~0930) I only picked up tea at the Raley's before heading down 95.
The Sonesta gave me no trouble about checking in early, so I did, and whiled away the afternoon with Civicrack and Twitter. The Sonesta is pretty nice, and fairly convenient to Image Dental; the room is not as spacious as the Rio, but it has a microwave and a fridge, and plenty of plugs for my stuff. It's all tradeoffs.
I was able to keep the a/c off until I got to Beatty, where it was already 90 as opposed to 70 in Tonopah. All the toilets at the Arco and Family Dollar were broken, but I managed to hold it until the rest stop in Amargosa Springs. I did pick up a can of Diet Coke and some Barbasol razors at the Family Dollar, though. Forgot to bring in the razors from the car, though. Oops.
Thanks to Annie Black (who will hopefully be my next Congresswoman) I am now in contact with local Republicans, and will get more connected when I return to the mountain tomorrow. Thanks to the Federalist, any doubts I had about voting for Adam Laxalt have been dispelled by Sam Brown's scummy attack. Fuck Sam Brown, I say.
Had McD's for dinner (4 McDoubles w/o pickles, large fries, & large Diet Coke) while doing the daily bloggage. I had hoped to get to bed at 2200 so I could get eight hours before rising in the morning, showering, and grabbing breakfast en route to the dentists' office, but I'll probably just get six, since I need to plug in a Walmart order for pickup tomorrow.
