a slight case of altitude sickness
Apr. 20th, 2023 10:20 pmHome again from Reno after taking US 50 to Fallon and the Walmart there, then down 95 to Tonopah. So tired and winded after unloading the car that I ate a couple bowls of soup, both the remaining Carbmaster yogurts, and then slept for ten hours. I slept through the alarm. I slept through the phone call from the Clerk's office. On waking, I got the message and tried to call them back, but their number was busy all day.
I did slightly fewer returns than last year (214 v. 220) but a lot more of them were very pricy returns, including my first return over $800. I might actually collect a bonus after all, though it won't be a big one.
Still kinda winded - always takes me a day or so to reacclimate to the altitude- but managed to haul out a couple bags of trash and pick up coffee, drugs, Klaus, & Komi at the post office. Got tea, oleo, butter, bread and some cake doughnuts at the Raley's, then went home and scanned everything. Eschewed blogging in favor of Civicrack.
Tomorrow I have my monthly call with Doc Bui; guess I'll throw out some more garbage, and start thinking long and hard about the Great Balticon Excursion. Maybe planning to leave the day after the NNSS tour (RIP EMAD) is a mistake, but we'll see how it works out.
