Off to the flatlands again
Nov. 5th, 2023 10:14 pmI didn't get any of the preparations for this week's trip done. The garbage is still sitting next to the door (but will be moved into the kitchen so at least it's out of the way) and I didn't go out to do laundry tonight, which is no big deal since I have plenty of socks, shirts, and undies to get me through the week. I'm going to the Low Level Waste stakeholders meeting on Tuesday afternoon and the NSSAB meeting Wednesday night, which means I'm driving down tomorrow and back on Thursday, stopping briefly at a Walmart along the way to get a pasta pot and maybe some other groceries. Also going to meet up with Dan for lunch and maybe Valerie at the Plaza regarding convention stuff.
It was ludicrously easy to beat Civ5 as the Swedes in a Boreal world, even if it was at level 3. Tempted to go back and try it at 4, but first I've got Mayans in the rainforest to play with.
Bought a bunch of stuff at Raley's on Friday, some of which is going in the freezer because it'll rot or get moldy while I'm gone if I don't. Cooked up the pound of ground lamb with garlic and pepper, ate it with some bulgur wheat and a potato, and it was pretty filling.
So I am for bed, setting the alarm so I can get up at 0800, get packed, and be on the road by (hopefully) noon.
