Father's Day 2006

I've been looking for a sign
"This exit off the Lost Highway"
I'm half asleep and veerin' toward the line
The radio is playin' Elvis' "My Way"
I remember what my daddy would do
Cold steel in his eyes of blue
Not a word while carryin' the weight
I only hope I didn't learn too late
Oh, can you tell me do you know
How to get from here to Victory Road?
Is there a tunnel to the end of the rainbow?
Can I get from here to Victory Road?
M/Sgt Kevin Trainor, USAF (Ret.), b. 9/3/1932 d. 12/8/2000
He set an example we couldn't always follow; instead, we went places with people he would never have wasted time on.
Still, he was always there for us, because that's part of what being a father is all about.

Date: 2006-06-19 08:46 pm (UTC)Oh Dammit All!! I was thinking that I should'a e-mail Uncle John to see how his Sunday School class went (he was a bit nervous about it), and then I remembered that my cousin had cut off ties with him because of his remarriage, and that he could have used an e-mail or a card...
Now I feel like a rotten son...
Did I tell you (I'm sure I must have) that he's going to be up here next month when I officially "jump the hoop" and join the church?
