If I ever start writing like this, please smack me upside the head. Hard.

(Via Lileks, who delivers a suitably snarky and parodistic homage.)

P, RS, [livejournal.com profile] stuckintraffik, [livejournal.com profile] tjstriker: you need to check out this T-shirt. It's relevant to your interests. ;)

Good grief, is he for real? Am tempted to write a parody myself, but I really should just get back to my novel.

Oh, I would just love to read what he thinks is wrong with American society.

I'm tempted to post the whole thing on /b/ so I can sit back and enjoy the abuse sure to be heaped on this pretentious dipstick. I have just the graphic to go with it, too.

Reminds me of Houseplants of Gor, for some reason.

...and compared to most he sounds positively humble and down-to-earth.

It all reminds me of Paglia's rant concerning the fact that it's possible to construct French sentences that literally mean nothing. IMAO what set Lileks (and me) off is the nose-in-air quality you mention. I do slice-of-life stuff all the time, as do you and 99% of the other bloggers out there, but the pretension isn't nearly as intense as it is here.

Private audience with the Pope? I should live so long. I'll be happy to get fifteen minutes with the local padre so's he can put in the fix when I croak.

If he really wants to live more in the open air, he can give me his extra homes.

Yeah, but then you'd have to live in Europe. ;_;
